With nearly 12k applicants and only 1,699 spots available per year, Waterloo Engineering is one of Canada’s most competitive programs.
With so many students with 95%+ averages, the AIF is a critical way for you to stand out, gain an edge, and show who you are.
Grades can only take you so far. Your AIF and video interview are a huge difference-maker in your application. Doing a high-quality job takes time that you don’t have, given all your other commitments.
Stop scrambling for feedback and answers. Get clear, proven advice from a professional you can trust.
Believe it or not: Waterloo Engineering applicants have a very typical profile: FIRST robotics heads, SHAD fellows, mathletes, etc. Therefore, you need to differentiate.
We assist students in developing extracurriculars that truly stand-out, while selecting the pieces of your life—most of which you might overlook—to create a truly compelling and authentic application.
Waterloo designed their application to reveal a typical engineering student’s weaknesses: interpersonal communication, improvisational skills, influencing abilities, and essay writing skills.
We can help you quickly advance these skills while steering you away from responses and strategies that haven’t worked for us in the past.

It’s incredible how many students believe they are good at video interviews, until the camera turns on and they don’t know how to act or what to say. The video interview has become the ‘deciding factor’ in admissions decisions, more than any other part of the application. That’s why it’s absolutely critical that you develop your verbal articulation and on-camera presence with our training and exercises.

“I was able to finish the Waterloo Eng Bootcamp 1-2 days before the application deadline, and I remember being extremely pressured to do well on my answers with so little time. What I really liked about the bootcamp was the essay templates that were given to help out with my answers. For starters, it alleviates a lot of stress as a student. Instead of trying to concoct an application answer out of thin air, the templates give a lot of inspiration on what to write about...
I also really enjoyed the samples that were shared during the bootcamp... The samples gave me a clear direction on how to perfect my choice of words, as well as what to focus on or omit in my answer. It's also really nice to have someone actually go through all the application questions and exemplars (through the video), as you get a clearer idea on what that student was trying to convey, and why it was good to do so in the question.
I wouldn't say I disliked anything, as the entire bootcamp was very useful.”
“Alex was crucial not only to my first choice, Waterloo Engineering acceptance, but also to the other programs that required supplementary applications. I definitely could not have done it without his advice and great availability.”
"I found that the Waterloo application questions asked a lot but didn’t give enough character space, so the bootcamp helped me in picking the more important answers that best answer all the questions.
I loved the templates. It allowed me to organize my thoughts and write the best answers in the least amount of characters."
“Thanks so much for the support on the Waterloo application and the coaching video interview. It’s been a long process and we couldn’t have been accepted without you”.
"My favourite part of the bootcamp is probably the essay examples. I like how you gave different examples for different engineering streams.
I also liked your essay templates. It made me more organized and it helped me keep track of my character count."
